rule 4: watch for the signs that say "transfer!"

ran the across the bay 12k a couple weekends ago. i was shooting for an hour, it took me about an hour and 4 minutes. not too shabby, i think i could have finished faster if i'd been placed in the second wave (then i wouldn't have had to bob and weave around all the slower people who had started 15 minutes ahead of me). rachel, her parents, and bridget were there too. it was super cold at 7:30am, but perfect running weather once we got started. i was met with beautiful smiling faces and cheers from bridge and gio as i crossed the finish line, made me really happy.

based on my time for this race, i think there's a chance i'll finish the half marathon in my goal of 2 hours. that's april 12...we'll see.

i also saw a girl i remembered from elementary school, before i could stop myself i blurted out her name...but i didn't really have anything to say. she said "wow! tara! right?" i said "yep. i just wanted to say hi. that's all. have a good run!" awkwarrrrd (ryan knows how to say that).
