i meant to go 8 miles, it took me too long, i was bummed about my time. just mapped it and it was actually 9.5...which puts me at 8:30 miles!! that's really fast for me, especially over a longer distance. i think i might have seen rachel out there at the marina sometime around 8:15, there was a big group of tnt'ers.
then off to oakland, trying to beat the storm, i made it there and back with only a few drops hitting me, must have been riding super fast!
i'm pooped, that's a lot more outside time than i had planned for this weekend. but i feel good. time for second lunch and some couch time.

ankles feel funny
for some reason this run was so much harder than the 6-miler i did last weekend. it felt more like 8+ than 7. ah well, there are good days and bad days, i guess.
i don't know why i keep putting the california street hill at the end of my runs. it's killer. i guess i like that.
oh, i also got an idea while i was running. running tours of sf! there are so many tourists in sf, so many runners in sf, and i bet at least a few of the tourists are runners too. you can see so much more of the city on foot than you can in a double decker tour bus. just thought it would be a fun thing for the running tourist population out there. for instance, this morning i saw pier 39 and the wharf, the transamerica building, coit tower, the alcatraz ferry pier (optional stop), all of the embarcadero, the ferry building market and the san francisco belle, at&t park, SOMA, the financial district, the cable cars, grace cathedral....and probably lots more that i'm not remembering right now. i wouldn't want to be in charge of running people all around the city, i don't think i like running that much, but one of the sf running clubs could make a fun thing of it...
i know my mom likes this, anyone else thinks i'm a dork.

eh
went out with some folks friday night, wanted the masonic house to be there with us but it wasn't in the cards, we'll get them next time.

spent saturday napping on the roof in my bathing suit....and pajama pants and a hoodie. it looked so warm and sunny, i had great tan intentions, but 65 degrees isn't bathing suit weather, doesn't matter how stubborn you are. ate a blueberry people's donut for breakfast, zombie shopping with rachel in the afternoon, ice cream for dinner. gross. sometimes you just need a day like that.
sunday to sacramento for isaiah's baptism, he slept through it but he was perfect. he's pretty much the cutest kid ever, right?
went back to jen and vince's, the after party was some guitar hero-esque game (i'm so not video game savvy). the most enthusiastic band ever:
things were looking like they might start getting pretty rowdy (i.e. jungle juice appeared in what was the holy water pitcher just hours prior...) when i took off for davis and dinner with barb. our hippie cafe was closed so we got salads and garlic fries instead. mmmm.
i haven't worked out in 3 days, i feel gross, 7 mile run in the morning.

boring post!
i'm running the across the bay 12k (affectionately called emerald nuts by rach and i) in march. i think rachel is running it with me...
i'm also running the santa cruz half marathon in april. brother ryan was supposed to run with me but his ankle is still pretty messed up and he hasn't been able to train at all. sac ryan is running with me, and since it's less than 18 miles i'm pretty confident he'll not need a ride to the finish line.
so i've been running and working out a lot lately trying to get back in shape and improve my speed:
monday-sprints
tuesday-2 mile fast run
wednesday-cross training
thursday-4 mile pace run
friday-rest
saturday-long run
sunday-cross training
i'm feeling great, i'm getting faster, and i bought sweet spandex running capris. i also got a haircut and hung out with the huneke's a few times. that's about all i've been up to. i plan on having a fun weekend and documenting it well, i'll be more interesting soon!
(and i rode my bike to the beach and had soy mucho with leslie and watched a bond movie with les and co)
