way better than how i started this day last year....with a $300 jaywalking ticket and a threat to get thrown in jail where i could "learn some respect." jerk. i still say he was just bitter because his mustache was ugly.

marathon madness

guess what i signed up for today.....yep, the nyc marathon! i'm just in the lottery, find out in march if i get in, race is next november....happy 30th?

i'd also planned on signing up for the escape from alcatraz triathlon this year (again, just a lottery), but if i won the lottery, the entry for the race is $400!! holy cow. i think i need to do few more triathlons and buy a proper bike and a wet suit before i spend money like that on a race.

oakland marathon (that's right, oakland!!) and big sur marathon are on the the horizon for spring, in case anyone's looking for a run.

and miss leslie just took me to pilates at her gym thanks to a free guest pass, i may be sore tomorrow. she comes over after class sometimes and judging by what i've seen, i'm pretty sure she just drinks kombucha for dinner. i don't know how she does it, i'm starving.

triple ginger heaven

oh dear.
i just made heidi swanson's triple ginger cookies as a welcome back treat for awesome coworkerfriend jeni (who's back tomorrow after a THREE MONTH vacation), and as a little thanksgiving treat for sea ranch on wednesday.
i don't know why i waited so long to try this recipe, i guess i was a little daunted by the complexity, what with the ginger trifecta and all.
i'm afraid there's a very good chance i could end up eating them all tonight.

i'm back...

my computer crashed (again), genius evan is my hero, new hard drive (again) and i'm ready to go.
updates to follow, right now i just want to hang out with my most favorite friend (that would be taxi, not the computer).
