New York City Marathon: denied (they call it "not accepted," either way it feels like rejection).
I don't know why I get my hopes when I know how slim my chances are.
Oh well, I'll try again next year.

I finally made it to my first A's game! And it was against the Tigers!
How annoying it must have been for everyone around me, listening to me cheering for both teams, but I couldn't take a stand. Tigers won by a long shot this night, but the series ended in a tie, just as it should be.

And Sophie and I went to Davis for Picnic Day!

75 degrees in the central valley sun, riding bikes and watching sheep herding, multiple picnics, music and iced coffee, honey tasting, dome exploring, a visit to Barb and Mike, patio lounging at Delta, Amazon cake from the Co-op...we came home happy, exhausted, and pink.

For the past week I've had an extra shadow, the neighbors went to Costa Rica (lucky!) so their crazy pug Sue came to visit.
She's a funny dog.
She keeps digging into my closet to find Sophie's clothes. Today I came home from the hardware store to find Sophie's famous pink coat in the living room. Really Sue? That's the one you want? You got it girl.

Went up to the to the roof today for a little bronzing time...looky looky who decided to pop up and say hello to the sunshine after about 6 months of neglect!

Half Dome permits for July opened up at 7:00 this morning.
At 6:59, there were 300 available for the day we'll be there.
At 7:02, there were none. For the entire month.
I got 4, the maximum, all spoken for.
