nonsequitur tv quote thoughts

the server that holds our GIS stuff at work has been causing me some grief. it reliably shuts down for no apparent reason, leaving all the maps i create entirely worthless. i end up having to re-import layers and re-adjust display settings and it's just a huge waste of time. this morning i went to print the maps i made yesterday, preparing for a meeting with the director (boss's boss's boss)...my layers: gone. and i have to go to a meeting right now to tell the director about why this project is necessary. what good is a map of the water distribution system when you don't have any pipes?! argh!
anyway, i sent an email to the GIS lady to let her know the server was down again, it went a little something like this:

these pretzels are making me thirsty!

i proofread before hitting send, noticed i was channeling george, deleted and started over.

also, found out today that i have high cholesterol. huh? never imagined that was something i'd have to worry about. i need to eat less red meat and dairy, exercise more. this is going to be tough. even funnier than that, my blood glucose was very low (i know, right? i had a smoothie and chocolate for breakfast!), they were surprised i wasn't feeling light-headed, said i should go eat something sweet. ha. wonder if these things have anything to do with the strange numbness that's taken over where my left thumb and index finger used to be.
