here's the crew, cam, adam, me, and danny (christian napped ate fancy food at the awhanee with "thomas" instead of hiking with us. next year chris, no wrestling with dogs and incapacitating yourself).

no photos going up the mist trail, because there was no mist trail. alternately we hiked up the torrential downpour trail, my camera stayed dry in my backpack. we were greeted with this ominous sign upon reaching the top of vernal fall:

adam and cam at vernal:

hiking up to nevada fall, it got misty again, so much so that we put our rain layers back on. the falls were bigger than i've ever seen, a lot of the trail was wet with runoff. here's nevada, above the mist zone, going crazy:

peanut butter jelly loaf! thanks for lunch, adam.

less than two miles to go, but it looks so far away.

cam looking at the cables, deciding his fate.

lunchtime view of half dome and the cables from subdome. where are all the people? there were two, both coming down. we sat there for about half an hour and nobody went up.

cam and i decided to get off the pot, we scrambled up in fifteen minutes of adam's bated breath. here he is risking his life for a facebook self portrait. that's a mile fall. ouch. boys.

when i said nobody went up, i'm serious. we were the only people up there. nuts. the back side:

the front side:

hello again old friend. this rascal ate almost all of the food in cam's bag, sparing only a big muscle bar. don't set your bag down, he knows how to open zippers.

hiking back down on the john muir trail, here's nevada fall

hiking and aching and daring to dream that christian will have cold beer at the campsite...

man-o-man christian is beautiful.

off to curry village for showers and more beer and wine and pizza and nachos and fries and grilled cheese and a whole bunch of disappointed lakers fans. BEAT L.A.!

Looks like a rad time! Glad you were able to make it to the top safely. Was being up at the top without tons of other people creepy? Or awesome?
